Salvia ‘New Dimension Blue’

Salvia nemorosa 'New Dimension Blue'

Salvia ‘New Dimension Blue’ is a compact variety of woodland sage with stunning blue-violet flowers borne on stout purple spikes in spring. Like most sages, it is drought-tolerant and sun-loving, though this cultivar can tolerate part sun. Its small stature makes this a great choice for the front of a sunny border.

I grew a number of these from seed in 2022 and ended up with enough to plant 3 patches (one of which has been overtaken by Shasta Daisy and Manzanita). The color is truly stunning, and my photos don’t do it justice. Had I known how mesmerizing their deep blue flowers would be, I would have started more and planned their locations a bit better!
