Lady in Red Fern

Athyrium (angustum rubellum) 'Lady in Red'

I love this little fern; it looks great paired with hostas. I’ve planted a couple behind the garage and in the back yard by the creek – and it’s still on my ‘buy more list’.

A better version of the native and ubiquitous lady ferns all over the yard - more beautiful and hard (less prone to collapse in dry weather)

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
