Alaskan Fern

AKA: Soft shield fern

Polystichum setiferum (P. angulare)

Very similar-looking to a tassel fern I’ve had for years, I planted this one to hide a weird step-down in a retaining wall behind the garage. Probably not the right solution for that so I’ll eventually transplant it. I really like the texture, perhaps I’ll divide it when I do.

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
