Virginian Arborvitae

Thuja plicata x standishii 'Virginian' [THEW-ya pli-KAY-ta]

I was excited to see this smaller version of the Green Giant so bought it not totally sure where I should site it. I ended up placing it along the back fence in front of the privacy shrubs and next to the coast redwood, thinking it may help create a fullness up against the back fence. It looks a little misplaced at the moment but I’m hoping the scene will come together as the plants back there mature.

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
