Saxifrage ‘Golden London Pride’

AKA: Variegated London Pride

Saxifraga × urbium ‘Aureopunctata’

I bought one 4″ pot ages ago and planted it next to a rather ugly, low concrete bird bath. It muddled along for a couple years then began to flourish, since spreading into a 4-foot square mat as of 2017 (successfully obscuring the ugly water bowl). This variety is a lovely speckled yellow color with interesting leaf shapes, reminiscent of some succulents. Dainty pink flowers emerge on tall, delicate stems in the spring. Would work well in a fairy garden I think, if I were into that kinda thing.

Beautiful variegated shade and drought tolerant saxifrage. I only wish it spread faster!

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
