Beautiful but slow to establish. Worth the wait!
Japanese Forest Grass ‘Aureola’
Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'
One of the few grasses I dare to grow in our yard, this little gem serves as a great foil for the numerous hostas around it. I initially planted it in a deeply shady spot and it didn’t do very well. I transplanted it to a sunnier area in the northeast corner and I’ve been rewarded with beautiful regrowth every year since.
Nursery Tag
Green and gold striped foliage arches gracefully to one side. Slow to establish. 18-24" tall by 24" wide. Good in borders, woodland gardens and as a specimen.
