Lupine harvest

Jul 5, 2016 | Seeds and planting | 0 comments

Lupine Seed PodsEven though it’s barely July, some of the lupine pods look ready for collection. I harvested some last year and made the mistake of planting them in the spring. I later discovered that you should plant them in the fall; for spring planting, pour some boiling water over the seeds to help them germinate – which I did not do. Perhaps those will show up next spring? I plan on planting these new ones in the fall. I may be a bit too lazy to fuss around with seed scarification!
