Privet ‘Straight Talk’

Ligustrum vulgare 'Swift'

I moved these 1 day after planting from next to the north side chain link fence to the the back yard by the blue atlas cedar – after discovering that they weren’t evergreen. Rookie mistake! It took me a while to figure out where in the world to put a skinny, deciduous privacy plant, but I’d been wanting to plant some sort of dark green skinny shrub in the the open spot next to the cedar trunk. I still don’t love the idea of a deciduous plant there but we won’t be seeing that area much in winter anyway since it’s not visible from inside the house. Maybe a win? We’ll see!

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
