Formosan Carpet Raspberry

AKA: Creeping Raspberry

Rubus pentalobus 'Formosan Carpet'

I wanted a tough groundcover to replace the ivy that kept crawling up the garage wall and leaving little aerial rootlets stuck to the siding. This definitely fits the bill though it’s a bit more vigorous than we need! the planting spot is only about 3 x 3, and this thing stretches well beyond that in 1 season. It’s easy to trim though, and won’t crawl up the wall so I’m calling it a success for now.

      About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
