Shade Grade: A
Love this plant! Vigorous and hardy with decent water. A few pest nibbles mid-summer but still looks great.
Hardy Impatiens
Impatiens omelana
I first tried Hardy Impatiens in a drier spot in Front Garden and it petered out after a few years. Then I planted it again in the wetter, shadier North Side Yard and wow has it performed! It looks fantastic paired with ferns, hostas and black mondo grass. It can get a few slug holes on the leaf edges but is otherwise pest-free in our yard.
