Baby’s Tears

Soleirolia soleirolii

This groundcover has been trucking along since 2007. It never looks super great because of all the tree litter, especially the pine needles that tend to cover it and block out the sun. It looks its best in early summer. Usually completely dies back in winter.

    B

I love this little plant, but I'm giving it a B for my garden. It's great for shade or part shade, but is easily covered by our perpetually falling leaf litter and dies back quickly.

    About Me

Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
