Masses of upturned, mauve-pink blossoms adorn Hellebore ‘Charmer’ in late winter to spring. This tidy hellebore variety is evergreen to semi-evergreen, sporting silvery leather leaves and maroon flower stalks, creating a complementary color scheme. In our garden, it pairs nicely with hellebores Ivory Prince and Black Diamond.

UPDATE 2023: Some stems turned black and collapsed again this year, but fewer than last year. Overall I would purchase these again – I think the last couple of cold, wet springs have been particularly rough on spring-blooming plants (or most plants, for that matter!). Sadly one of the 3 I planted entirely kicked the bucket in 2022. But the two remaining ones look pretty good!

UPDATE 2022: In late spring, several flower stalks turned black and collapsed. This doesn’t seem to be affecting Ivory Prince or the black variety next to it.
