Veitch Boston Ivy

Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchi'

This plant is doing a great job of covering an ugly chain link fence, at least during the summer. Leaves turn a subtle red in the fall, not as bright as advertised probably due to lack of sun.

    • Shade Grade

    Nursery Tag

Rapid growing spreading deciduous broadleaf vine. Spread is 30 to 40 feet. Hardy to about -15 degrees F. Likes sun/part shade.

    Gardener's Log

07/2011: Planted on rock wall next to creek.

05/2016: Something, I think a squirrel, clipped off one of the stems at the ground! To protect it I tented 2 concrete slabs in a pyramid around the remaining stem. Happily, what was left of the plant still grew quite vigorously.
