Rhododendron ‘Everred’

Rhododendron 'Everred'

I saw this guy in a half gallon pot at the Lake Forest Park plant sale and had to have it. I’m not the biggest fan of Rhodies – they tend to get a little rangy and their flowers are super sticky which can make a mess. But I loved the unique, super-dark purple color! I planted this in a spot that’s been a bit of a carousel for plants (I keep having better ideas for what should go there) and I’m hoping this one will stick. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t get bigger than the 3′ foot spread promised by the nursery tag, or it will shoulder up onto the footpath and have to be moved too!
