Maroon Beauty Saxifrage

Saxifraga stolonifera 'maroon beauty'

I planted one of these years ago in an inhospitably dry spot and it slowly disappeared. This year I needed a low growing plant for the garage bed and thought I should try it again. These saxifrages spread slowly via runners, so I’m hoping the 3 plants will kindly fill the front edge of the planting area nicely. Saxifraga stolonifera’s fuzzy red and green appearance adds a nice texture the garden border, and in spring sends up an ethereal looking flowers that float high on thin stalks.
