Honeysuckle ‘Scarlet Dropmore’

Lonicera x brownii. 'Dropmore Scarlet'

I planted this up against a gated wall between the front of our house and detached garage, an area where we keep our trash bins. Unfortunately, this honeysuckle grew mostly on the back side of the wall because that’s where the sun shines. So we get treated to a lovely display of flowers in summer when we take out the trash.

It’s taken a while to establish and flower profusely, and it gets powdery mildew in June (way too soon), which is why I give it only a B rating. I have read that underwatering can cause this issue which I definitely believe because it’s in a very dry spot.
