I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of these lovelies for a couple years now. I haven’t seen another Japanese maple quite like it – the whirligig leaf shape, chartreuse color and interesting growth pattern are uniquely attractive. The larger ones are fairly pricey since they are such slow growers. This year I was fortunate to hit Sky Nursery the day after their fall shipment of maples arrived and picked up smallish #5 size. The Golden Full Moon Maple’s pokey growth makes it great for planting in containers, and think this will be a perfect addition to our back deck garden.
Hi! I'm Lorie and I wrangle plants in a muddy, feral shade garden in the Pacific Northwest. I built this site to serve as a gardening journal and quasi-accurate record of planting successes and failures. My goal is to help "future me" be a better gardener. I hope what I've learned along the way can be useful to you too. Thanks for visiting!
