Clematis ‘Candida’

Clematis languinosa 'Candida'

The two nursery tags on this plant gave differing sun ratings, so I wasn’t sure how this clematis would do given that the base of the plant receives almost no direct sun. As of this writing, it’s been a year since I planted it and it’s doing great. Our breakfast table sits by a window that looks down at the trellis, so we can enjoy the beautiful blooms that so far seem to prefer to perch at the top of the arc. This variety belongs to pruning group “b2”, meaning no pruning is necessary for flowering, which is the ideal!
